New commanders start with a survivor fleet and a Commander's Path to follow, every mail row now has its actions one tap away, expedition reports show what they brought home right in the mail list, arriving in a new Realm gets a welcome screen, and alliances that hold star systems pay a daily tribute to their Realm 1โ€“3 members.

Commander's Path

  • A survivor fleet. A few of your father's ships escaped the fall. New commanders now start with 5 Probes, 10 Cargo Ships, 40 Fighters and 5 Recyclers docked at the homeworld.
  • The top of the Onboarding tab now shows one current goal at a time, in two acts:
    • Act I: The Survivor Fleet: Scout a Pirate, First Strike, Salvage the Wreckage, Chart a Nebula.
    • Act II: A Fleet of Our Own: Growing Economy, Into the Unknown, A Second World.
  • Each goal lists its steps. Tap a step to jump to its quest, and claim the goal's reward once every step is done. Act I goals have a button that takes you to the galaxy map, your latest scout report or the nearest nebula.
  • An onboarding bar under the goal opens reward chests at 10, 20, 30 and 40 completed quests. Goal and chest rewards come on top of quest rewards and Category Bonuses.
  • Some onboarding quests now count only after the research that equips them, and a locked card names the missing research. Research Weapon Systems is renamed Research Weapon Systems II to tell it apart from level 1.

See Quest System.

Tutorial

  • Tutorial highlights now outline the button or panel instead of tinting it blue, and tutorial and prologue text is brighter.
  • During the prologue pirate raid, an arrow on the galaxy map points at the pirate stronghold.

Mail

Mail row actions

  • Each mail row now has a โ‹ฎ button next to the delete button. Tap it to slide the row aside and show that mail's actions with labels; tap โ‹ฎ or the row again to close them.
  • Scout reports: Scout (again), Attack, Simulate, Debris (when the report shows a debris field) and Navigate, the same as the buttons in the report. Tap and long-press work as they do there, including One-Click Scout and One-Click Recycler. From an alliance system only Navigate is offered, and a report on a target in another realm has no launch actions.
  • Recall when one of your fleets can still be recalled from a fresh scout report (several fleets still show their list under the row).
  • Explore on expedition reports, the same as Explore again in the report.
  • Star / Unstar on every mail. A starred mail still shows its star on the row; tap it to unstar.
  • Delete stays on the row. Only one row's actions are open at a time, and scrolling the list closes them.

Two-line mail previews

  • Mail rows now show up to two lines of the mail's text instead of one, and the text no longer runs under the star, delete and โ‹ฎ buttons.

Expedition results in the mail list

  • Expedition report rows now show what the expedition brought home: the resources found, the number of ships recovered and the names of items found. Open the report for the full depth-by-depth breakdown.

Explore again from expedition return reports

  • When an expedition fleet docks, its return report now has an Explore again button, in the report and in the mail row's โ‹ฎ actions. It works like the one on the expedition report.
  • With Imperial Access, expedition report and return report rows show a fleet icon while one of your fleets is already heading to or exploring that zone, like scout reports.
  • Return reports now name the explored zone, show your colony's coordinates and list the items the fleet brought home.

Welcome back briefing

  • The Welcome back, Commander screen is now for new commanders (first 7 days), and has a new look: how long you were away (in days after 2 days), the mail that arrived grouped into tiles (battles, scout reports, expeditions, harvests, fleet reports, trade, rewards) with a shortcut to your mail, your next objectives with progress bars, and today's open daily quests. Tap any objective to jump to it on the Quest Board.
  • Fixed the away time showing a raw placeholder instead of the number of hours, and the mail list showing raw text.

Notifications

  • The game asks for notification permission after you queue a building once the tutorial is done, instead of while it loads. If you choose Maybe Later, it asks again a few days later.
  • Notification Settings shows a Turn On Notifications button while notifications are off on your device.
  • Return reminders come after about two days away and again after about five, and tell you if your colonies were attacked or your alliance needs you.
  • See FAQ.

Quests

  • While your onboarding is unfinished, the daily completion bonus needs all 3 of your easy dailies. See Quest System.

Realms

Welcome to a new Realm

  • After you ascend to Realm 2, 3 or 4, the first time you open the game in the new Realm a Welcome to Realm screen greets you. It lists what is new in that Realm and a Heads-up on what gets harder, the same as the ascension mail.
  • It shows once per Realm, and only within 7 days of arriving. The full ascension report stays in your mail.

Alliances

Alliance tribute for Realms 1โ€“3

  • Alliances that hold star systems now share part of their daily harvest with members in Realms 1โ€“3. They are marked Tribute in the alliance list.
  • Your daily tribute grows with your score up to a cap for your Realm: 1M in Realm 1, 300M in Realm 2 and 10B in Realm 3. You get the full cap once your score reaches the next Realm gate, and never less than a quarter of it. It only includes resources your Realm has.
  • Your first tribute comes 2 days after you join. Collect it each day from the alliance Harvest tab; a Trade Union convoy brings it to your capital.
  • Realm 4 members still split the rest of the pool as before.
  • See Alliance tribute.

Ships

Faster minimum build times (Realm 4+)

Fixes

  • Translocator prices fixed around 100T Steel for player version, and 200T for Alliance version. See Colonization and Alliance Archive.
  • Ships warped through a Warp Gate can be sent from the destination right away. Before, the destination could show an empty hangar and refuse to launch them for up to five minutes.
  • Many views now update right away after an action instead of minutes later: colonies, your profile and research, fleet status, alliance membership, members, research, buildings, Warp Gates and territory bonuses, system owners and sieges on the galaxy map, score, tonnage and inventory badges.
  • Alliance ranks are now enforced: you can only promote, demote or remove members ranked below you. Only the Leader can appoint or demote Deputies. Refused alliance actions now show the reason. See Alliances.
  • The game reconnects by itself after a long session or a lost connection, and chat keeps updating afterwards. If loading fails at launch, or a brief server problem hits while refreshing your login, a Retry button appears instead of an endless loading screen or a sign-out.
  • A purchase the store confirms late now shows as still processing and is delivered automatically. Upgrading an iOS subscription to another plan is now granted.
  • Commander's Path rewards are no longer lost: the Onboarding tab stays open while a goal or chest is waiting to be claimed. Raids, salvage and nebula scans done before the Path arrived count toward Act I; Scout a Pirate and First Strike need a pirate target.
  • The return briefing and the realm welcome no longer open on top of each other at launch.
  • Mail rows and reports show the real names of relics, monument pieces, surfaces and building skins brought home, and crowded mail row actions switch to icons on narrow screens.
  • The galaxy map no longer leaves empty systems at the edges of large screens.
  • The Tribute quick guide only appears when tribute is active and shows the current values.
  • The moon construction cancel dialog shows the real refund.
  • Fixed many screens and alerts that showed placeholder text (for example "errors:building.upgradeFailed") instead of a message.
  • Fixed several exploits.
  • Smoother planet view on iOS while buildings upgrade or produce.
