Radar Station

The Radar Station is a moon-only detection array in Per Regna. It scans hostile and pirate planets for fleet activity and lengthens early-warning push alerts when your worlds are attacked.

Mechanics

  • Moon-only — build on moons orbiting the planet you want to defend or scout from
  • Each level adds +1 minute to defender early-warning time (best radar among moons around the target is used)
  • Fleet scans cost Gas (scales with distance); range grows about +1 system grid every two levels

Special capabilities

Fleet scans

Run a fleet scan on an enemy or pirate planet in range to reveal missions, timing, composition, and cargo for fleets tied to that world. Full rules: Radar Station scans.

Radar does not reveal:

  • Fleets that launched from a moon (use moon staging for stealth)
  • Other players' fleets returning home after reaching the scanned planet (the planet's own fleets are shown on their way back)
  • Targets beyond radar range

Early warning

Colony-under-attack notifications fire in a 10–30 minute window before arrival. Radar pushes toward the long end; attacker Frigate escorts shorten it. Details: Fleet Detection.

Strategy

  • Build on moons of farm worlds and capitals you expect to be hit
  • Pair with Sensor Array on other moons for asteroid/pirate intel (different tool)
  • Defenders: more radar levels = more reaction time vs Frigate stealth

Lore

Radar stations combine long-range sensor arrays, gravitational scanners, and hyperspace monitoring systems.

These installations often detect hostile fleets hours before they reach a colony.

  • Frigate — attack escort that shortens defender warning
  • Sensor Array — asteroid / pirate scans (not the same as radar fleet scans)
