Expeditions/Nebula Zones
Nebula zones are the destinations for Expeditions. Each nebula system must be scouted before you can run zone expeditions there.
Key rules
- Scout the nebula system (position 0) first.
- On the galaxy map, a nebula you have scouted has a teal border instead of the usual coral one, so you can spot it when zoomed out. It turns back to coral when the scan expires.
- A nebula that is shifting has a red border until the shift ends.* Both borders also show on the zoomed-out overview map, for nebulae you have looked at closer in this session.
- One expedition or gas harvest per nebula zone at a time.
- Zone difficulty (Easy / Medium / Hard / Extreme) scales rewards and risk.
- The zone's info panel (โ) lists, per depth, what an expedition there can find (resource types, ships, items with rarity and base chance) and what it can cost (pirate ambushes, most ships lost, longest stun). The last depth listed also covers deeper ones. Chances are base values before probes, specialist ships and research.
- Radiation, ion storms and special features (ancient ruins, quantum rift, pirate stronghold) in scout reports do not change expedition outcomes.
- Zone gas is used up by expeditions and gas harvests and refills every hour, and fully when the nebula shifts. It does not change expedition rewards.
- Charged / Dormant cosmetic states do not change expedition payout or risk today.
