Shield barrier / soak
- Area Damage Absorption — major shared shield pool for the colony grid
- Much larger shield and hull than Small Shield Dome
- Cornerstone of mid/late defense stacks alongside anti-capital turrets
Strategic Use
- Build before neighbors field consistent cruiser/battleship hits
- Stack multiple domes where Defense Yard, Shield Technology, and Fortress Doctrine allow — each dome type has its own cap
- Pair with EMP Emitter so batteries exploit suppressed attacker shields
